Collaborated with team of 3 in designing:
1. A lab connecting two geographically distant network sites to simulate a WAN.
Configured IPsec VPN tunnels to ensure encrypted site-to-site communication.
Integrated cloud access at the data center to provide internet connectivity to both remote sites.
Applied port security on access switches to restrict unauthorized device connections and protect the network edge.
2. Configuring redundant gateway setup Using HSRP
Built a high-availability network setup using Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) with preempt for seamless failover.
Simulated router failure and recovery scenarios to test automatic gateway switching. Hardened device access with strong encrypted passwords (enable secret) and secured physical ports with port security.
3. Dynamic Routing Lab Using OSPF
Configured OSPF across multiple routers to demonstrate dynamic routing, route convergence, and efficient path selection.
Included BPDU Guard planning for access ports to prevent potential STP manipulation by rogue devices.
Emphasized secure device access using encrypted password authentication and consistent interface-level protections.
4. Internet Access Simulation Using NAT
Designed a topology where internal hosts accessed the internet via NAT and PAT, simulating a real-world IPv4 deployment.
Showcased how public IPs are used for outbound traffic while protecting private IP structure.
Implemented security best practices such as limiting MAC addresses on ports and denying unauthorized physical access
