  • Drafting of Budget Estimates: I draft the budget estimates for Ministry of Communication which will be sent to the budget committee for debate and approval
  • Drafting of Cash Plan, Work Plan and Procurement Plan: I assist the Ministry of Communication on how to draft their Cash plan, Work plan and Procurement plan for each financial year to meet the standards of Ministry of Finance
  • Reporting: I am responsible for carrying out quarterly and yearly reports on all outstanding claims on travel and medical review request letters that are not yet processed
  • Writing of Release Letters: I am responsible for the writing of Release Letters for the Ministry of Communication on all their service and investment activities
  • PUBLIC EXPENDITURE MONITORING UNIT(PEMU) – As a member of this unit I am assigned to perform the following tasks:
  • Monitoring of Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs) Expenditure: Thus all monies released to the MDAs are utilized to the best interest of the MDA with supporting and genuine documents to substantiate the disbursement
  • Collection and Collating Commitment Control: I am responsible to ensure that all utility bills being brought by the various Ministries corresponds to the specific amount allocated to them in the annual Budget of the nation and if any excess spending is observed, I make it known to the sector Ministry involved
  • Collection of Data on Government Financial Statistics: I liaise with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to collect the needed information and report to my Unit Head on a weekly basis for them to know the financial position of the Government
  • Formulation and Implementing Sound Fiscal and Financial Policies: I am a member of the finance sub-committee on fiscal and financial policies implementation where the members meet and discuss where the direction of the economic indicators are heading towards if it is necessary to advice the government on what macro-economic indicators to be used
  • Printing of Budget Drafts: I am responsible for the printing of the Budget draft, appropriation bill and budget estimates to Cabinet for debate, approval, otherwise
