Summary

  • Mr Zakaria Iddi works with the Northern Development Authority, a state development institution for poor enclave in Ghana as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer in-charge of Programmes & Projects.
  • Mr. Zakaria was a Deputy Director for Agriculture, Agribusiness and Agro-processing at the NDA before being elevated. He is a development & agricultural expert with 22 years' experience specializing in Development Programming & Funds raising, development coordination, projects implementation and Agricultural Policy & Strategy Development Facilitation.

  • He also specializes in Agroforestry, Local Economic Development, Microfinance and Multi-Stakeholder Co-ordination. He has worked from community to meso and national levels across Ghana's geographical land space and across Agricultural commodities especially shea and Cocoa and mobilized in excess of 1 million USD in development Aid for community actions.
  • Mr Zakaria has had exposure with donors such as USAID, DFID, Star Ghana, Cord Aid, SNV, Oxfam, Ibis, Global Shea and ICCO Co-operation among others. Mr Zakaria has also worked with more than 10 MMDAs in joint actions for projects implementations.
  • Mr Zakaria, has provided a range of Consultancy & Advisory Services to local and international Organizations as well as GoG. He developed the Sustainable Shea Management Policy for the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources with funding from the FAO in 2018. In 2018, he was appointed the Liaison Officer by the then Ministry of Regional Re-Organization for the Savannah Region during the referendum which he was resultful in Coordinating the referendum for the creation of the Savannah Region. In 2022 he facilitated the sustainability and exist stakeholders' workshop of the Ghana Agricultural Sector Investment Programme (GASIP).
  • In 2022 he was among the team that reviewed the Five-Year Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) of the NDA and now developing the Implementation Frame Work of the Authority.
  • He is a PhD Candidate of Social Forestry at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani and holds MSc Local Economic Development from KNUST, BSc Agricultural Economics, University of Ghana, Legon.
