Personally, reading for me is not just about passing out time or acquiring knowledge but for me books are a portal that showcase unending possibilities and achievements when we follow principles. I read all manner of books from scientific journals, books on business, sports, novels and magazines. One of the first books that caught my attention as a youngster was Ben Carson gifted hands and through that i learnt the importance of resilience, determination and a can do spirit. When in doubt, frustrated, at a road block or simply tired after a hard day I pick a book and its serves as a reminder that my goals and dreams are achievable. But my desire for growth and progress is not just self-centered. I believe impact and fulfillment is achieved when the world becomes a better place. Through mentorship, one on one tutorials with students, community outreaches and educational programs helps me to fulfill a deep need by giving back to the society. And anytime i encounter a setback or a blockage I know that research is always the answer. By reading, getting, in touch with professionals who have gone ahead of me, community or grass root engagement I also find the answers I am looking for. This solidifies a personal principle i have which say every question has an answer and every difficulty has a solution. These hobbies have helped me develop critical thinking, problem solving and networking skills.
