Summary

William Kodjo Niyuni is a seasoned professionally trained Social Worker who has over three decades experience in Social Work Practice. His expertise is in the area of Social Protection. He has worked in various capacities within the Government of Ghana space specifically, the Department of Social Welfare, an agency of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection between 1985 and 2019. Worked as a Social Development Officer, District Social Welfare Director, Monitoring and Evaluation Focal Person on HIV/AIDS at the district level, Assistant Director in charge of Research and Information through to the position of Deputy Director in charge of LEAP in 2019. However, in November, 2007, when Ghana's Social Protection programme, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) commenced, he was given additional responsibility as the Deputy National Programme Manager a position he held until June, 2019.

· Collaborated with Development Partners (DPs) such as the World Bank, UNICEF, USAID, WFP and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in the implementation of Social Protection interventions in Ghana between 2007 and 2019

· Conducted training workshops for officials of the Local Government Service - Regional Coordinating Councils and District Assemblies.

· Supported the Government of Ghana team and the World Bank Missions under the Ghana Productive Safety Net Programme (GPSNP1) phase 1 between 2015 and 2017,

· Supported in planning, implementation and evaluation of the LEAP 1000 project under USAID/UNICEF in undertaking field visits to LEAP operational communities, districts and regions

· Delivered presentations on Social Protection Interventions at the quarterly meetings of Social Protection Sector Working Group meetings organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Development Partners (DPs).

Collaborations

In the course of my work within the Government of Ghana space I collaborated with Development Partners (DPs) such as the World Bank, UNICEF, USAID, WFP and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in the implementation of Social Protection interventions in Ghana. I have a good knowledge and understanding of the Local Government structure in Ghana where I conducted training workshops for officials of the Local Government Service - Regional Coordinating Councils and District Assemblies. I played critical roles in the following programme areas: supported the Government of Ghana team and the World Bank Missions under the Ghana Productive Safety Net Programme (GPSNP1) phase 1 between 2015 and 2017, team player in the in planning, implementation and evaluation of the LEAP 1000 project under USAID/UNICEF support and involvement in Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) field visits to LEAP operational communities, districts and regions as well as delivering presentations on Social Protection Interventions at the quarterly meetings of Social Protection Sector Working Group meetings organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Development Partners (DPs).
