WILLIAM NIYUNI

· Collaborated with Development Partners (DPs) such as the World Bank, UNICEF, USAID, WFP and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in the implementation of Social Protection interventions in Ghana between 2007 and 2019

· Conducted training workshops for officials of the Local Government Service - Regional Coordinating Councils and District Assemblies.

· Supported the Government of Ghana team and the World Bank Missions under the Ghana Productive Safety Net Programme (GPSNP1) phase 1 between 2015 and 2017,

· Supported in planning, implementation and evaluation of the LEAP 1000 project under USAID/UNICEF in undertaking field visits to LEAP operational communities, districts and regions

· Delivered presentations on Social Protection Interventions at the quarterly meetings of Social Protection Sector Working Group meetings organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Development Partners (DPs).

• Development of Social Protection Policy Strategy, January, 2022 to July, 2022, Accra, Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), Ghana Country Office, Social Protection Consultant, Supported IPA Ghana to develop its Social Protection Policy Strategy, Conducted Scoping Study of Social Protection Space in Ghana, Supported IPA Ghana build relationships and Network with Social Protection Actors - Governmental, Non-Governmental and Civil Society in Ghana, Supported IPA Global Policy team in programme tracking and implementation.
• Review, revision and finalization of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) National and District Operation Manuals., February, 2020 to May, 2022, Accra, Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), National Secretariat, National Consultant, Produced report on the assessment carried out and a report on consultative meetings held with GSFP management (the latter report included agreements/consensus on additions/changes to the manuals), Produced revised district and national operation manuals (covering all key processes of the programme and the technical annexes status of deliverables, Submitted a final report of the operation manuals for validation, Facilitated a validation workshop with GSFP Management and stakeholders for feedback on the final manuals., Prepared a national training and roll out plan to guide stakeholder sensitization which included budget estimates and timelines for implementation.

• Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme, November, 20007 – June, 2019, Accra, Ministry of Gender, Children Social Protection - LEAP Management Secretariat (LMS), Deputy National Programme Manager, Supported the National Programme Manager in the day-to - day operations and administration of the LEAP Programme at the LEAP Management Secretariat., Spearheaded the development of the programme log frame and its execution., Updated the National Programme Manager on the status of key deliverables and issues., Supported unit heads to realize their annual targets and objectives., Convened programme meetings to assess progress, plan for the future and address challenges and ensured proceedings were documented approved and signed., Ensured that all staff of the programme had performance targets and ensured targets were achieved, Resolved programme challenges and ensured programme progress and escalated whenever it became necessary., Ensured that all LEAP activities were undertaken in accordance with LEAP policies and procedures.
• Research and Information Unit, September, 2004 – October, 2007, Accra, Department of Social Welfare, Assistant Director/Unit Head, Collated and compiled quarterly and annual reports from the regions and divisional heads at the head office., Developed and compiled projects and programme reports for various units of the Department, Conducted research on the impact of HIV/AIDS on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and, Collaborated with stakeholder agencies to develop and implement policy for OVC.
• District Social Welfare, January, 1985 – August, 2004, Brong Ahafo and Upper West regions, Department of Social Welfare, District Social Welfare Officer/Monitoring and evaluation Focal Person on HIV/AIDS, Delivered social welfare services to target groups and communities in the district., Coordinated and delivered HIV/AIDS interventions of CSOs, NGOs and Governmental Organizations in the district, Monitored activities of agencies and organizations implementing HIV/AIDS interventions in the district., Provided technical and planning expertise in social welfare services to districts assembly, unit and child panel committee members, Drew up and implemented planned individual social work interventions for children and families in need of care, protection and support, Provided technical and professional expertise to the Social Service, Education and Justice Statutory Committees of the District Assembly

• 11th to 12th October 2017 - Participated in the Second Session of the Committee on Gender and Social Development held at the United Nations Conference Centre, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
• 10th – 14th April 2017 - Participated in the 2nd Specialized Technical Committee on Social Development, Labour and Employment (STC-SDLE-2), April 2017 held in Algiers, Algeria.
• 6th – 11th November 2015 - Participated in the South, South Learning Conference on Social Protection, held in Beijing, China.
• November 2014 - Participated in an International Conference on Social Protection in Accra, Ghana.
• October 2014 - Participated in an International Conference in Social Protection for the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) in Nairobi, Kenya.
• March, 2014 – Participated in Face-to-Face International Conference on Social Protection in Africa and Latin America (Community of Practice – CoP) held in Fortaleza, Brazil.
