Biography
Sixtus Akanzinge Nsoh is a self-motivated Development Practitioner of over 7 years experienced in successful implementation of projects in Advocacy, Food Security, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Nutrition, Livelihoods and Capacity-building with high initiatives and drive to success. He is team player and leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the abilities to build relationships and networks with organizations, communities and government agencies for successful projects implementation whilst motivating team members to achieve set targets. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environment and Resource Management and Diploma in Integrated Community Development from the University for Development Studies, Wa-Campus. Sixtus Akanzinge Nsoh is the co-founder and Associate Executive Director Women and Children Empowerment Program - WACEP Ghana. Sixtus has led WACEP Ghana in the implementation of various projects and programmes in collaboration and partnership with local CBOs, international organizations (NGOs), donors and Government that have impacted positively the lives of vulnerable women and children in under-served, low-income food deficits communities, particularly in Northern Ghana. Sixtus has led WACEP Ghana and implemented the World Vision "Improved Feeding Practices for the first 1000 days Project" in the Kassena-Nankana West district and facilitated capacity-building training for community groups including Mother-to-Mother support group (MtMSG) facilitators, Male Champions (MCs) facilitators, Community health volunteers (CHVs), Village Based Entrepreneurs (VBEs) and Farmer groups on project models and approaches among others. He has also supported advocacy activities on nutrition messaging, complementary feeding and best practices in project communities, which increased understanding on appropriate nutrition, and complementary feeding practices and demand for KOKO Plus micro-nutrient supplement the project promoted in the communities with new learnings documented for future activities. From 2018 - 2020, Sixtus Akanzinge Nsoh led the implementation of the "Adaptation Fund Project" Sub-livelihood activities on "Dry Season Gardening" in three communities, Farik, Dagunga and Tilli-Azupupunga in the Bawku West district on behalf of WACEP Ghana; facilitated the fencing of 4000 square meters of dry season gardens in the communities and training of 120 beneficiaries (50% being women). Sixtus Akanzinge Nsoh is also a Certified Village Saving and Loans Association (VSLA) Facilitator and in all WACEP Ghana programming and partnership with World Vision Ghana, he has formed and trained over 500 functional VSLAs or Saving for Transformation (S4T) groups with approximately 12,500 beneficiaries (90% being women) in the Kassena-Nankana West, Bawku West and Talensi Districts. VSLAs/S4Ts are community-based self-selected, self-managed groups who pool their income into a fund offering flexible credit/loan services to their members with minimal interest to expand businesses and attend to emergencies.
