As an eclectic artist, my creative journey spans various localities and mediums. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts program in Painting at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and further honed my skills at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany. Currently I reside and work in Karlsruhe, balancing my passion for art with a career as a freelance English teacher. My artistic exploration extends beyond the canvas, encompassing photography, image transfer, and drawing techniques. My works are a testament to my multicultural upbringing and diverse influences, offering viewers glimpses into layered landscapes of imagination and introspection and shared feelings.
Growing up with a perfectionist father meant adhering to precision and perfect order in everything I did. Yet, whenever I had the chance to be away from home, I found solace in doing the opposite-a break from perfection. While this upbringing proved advantageous in many aspects of my life, it left me with a peculiar inclination-a mental tic pushing me to disrupt things that appear too perfect. I have an aversion to pictures that feel overly clean or meticulously planned. Working in layers of allows me to infuse chaos into these otherwise flawless moments. Unraveling the layers allows my mind to engage, and it's crucial for me to have that element of disruption. When an image seems too perfect, I struggle to pay attention, quickly losing interest. Creating my own chaos through layers has become an integral part of my artistic process.
