Ruby Victoria Kodom is a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Department of Distance Education, Legon. She also coordinates the Department of Public Administration and Department of Health Services Management (University of Ghana Business School). Ruby is a pioneering team member who rolled out the blended form of learning at the University of Ghana, Department of Distance Education, Legon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing (Psychology) with First Class Honors and an MPhil Health Services Management Degree from the University of Ghana. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Her thesis is towards the attainment of a PhD in Public Health. Her doctoral study is titled, “Guidelines for Empowerment and Patient-Centred Care Towards Achieving Universal Health Coverage: A Reality of Access to Healthcare in Ghana”. Her MPhil thesis sought to assess Ghana's localisation of the erstwhile MDGs, explicitly focusing on MDG 7: Ensuring environmental sustainability using the Ketu-South Municipality as a case study. Ruby enjoys teaching Food and Nutrition, Environmental Management, Health Services Management, and related courses. Her research interests are patient-centred care, healthcare policy, quality in healthcare, environmental management, climate change, water, and sanitation. She is passionate about providing student support services, to facilitate academic growth and general student life. Ruby has practised as a Registered General Nurse and has worked in the health insurance industry as a Claims adjudicator and Manager.
