  • GENERAL OBJECTIVES
  • To lead and supervise the maintenance team to maintain Plant and Utilities to support operations in line with the maintenance plan and policies to prevent contamination of cocoa processed products and to ensure the efficient performance and maintenance of all mechanical plant equipment in accordance with PLOT Food Safety Management Systems with respect to the company’s operating certification of (ISSO 22000).
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and verify checks on operations of equipment (ie Steam boiler, Gen Set, Forklifts, Water systems, Chillers, ACs, Air compressors, Blowers, All hydraulic units, Water treatment plant)
  • Consolidating data on energy and utility efficiency
  • Investigating equipment and system failures in order to determine the cause and repair work required
  • Installs equipment and systems
  • Supervises installation and assembly work done by other technicians and external vendors
  • Independently maintains equipment and systems and conducts the testing of equipment and systems
  • Maintain the energy and utilities systems at the manufacturing facility
  • Performs checks and rectifies disruptions in energy supply ie steam from the boiler to all various quarters where steam is needed
  • Oversees the responsibility of the water farm, proper maintenance of all the piping networks in the plant and ensure constant water supply for operations and social block ie City water and the company’s borehole

Plant and Utilities Technician

  • GENERAL OBJECTIVES
  • To follow all the laid down (GMPs) good manufacturing practices in the plant with respect to food processing industry, to follow proper maintenance modules to prevent contamination of cocoa processed products and to ensure the efficient performance and maintenance of all mechanical plant equipment in accordance with PLOT Food Safety Management Systems with respect to the company’s operating certification of (ISSO 22000).
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspection to ensure smooth equipment function such as (Water chillers, Liquor and Butter sollich, Presses and its hydraulic units, Compressors and its pneumatic systems, Boiler, Cooling tower, Blowers etc)
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
  • Conduct troubleshooting, testing and installation in compliance with codes and requirements
  • Submit daily reports on maintenance and general mechanical operations in the plant
  • Maintain accurate records of all mechanical repair and maintenance work
  • Modify mechanical prototypes to correct function under direction of supervisors
  • Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure of operation equipment and perform corrective maintenance
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance, where necessary, using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications on machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment
  • Replace equipment where approved for the purpose of ensuring acceptable operating standards
  • Perform other maintenance actions(preventive/curative/modifications) using drawings, maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and systems operate efficiently

  • Responsible for the general Maintenance of the Palm Oil Mill in order to maximize profit, specifically, to ensure that all projects for the improvement of this area is safely, efficiently and reliably executed in line with agreed budget and timings.

  • Servicing of pumps by changing of mechanical seals, bearings, impellers and shaft
