• I rotate through the emergency, Out-Patient Department, General Ward, Paedics ward and the maternity. Depending on my post, I attend to clients at the emergency and OPD from children to adults. I also do ward reviews. I do pre-op and post-op assessments for elective surgeries while performing some surgeries. I supervise Physician Assistant interns to do clinical presentations as well as hold teaching sessions with them. I assist my Clinical Care Coordinator in his work to organize clinical meetings and in-service workshops for hospital staff.

I worked in the Internal medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology departments where I was involved in managing patients both at the Out-Patient Department and Emergency Units under the supervision of my seniors. I also reviewed patients on admission and reported back to my seniors. I performed pre- operative and post-operative assessments for patients undergoing surgery in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department. I assisted in both Obstetrics and Gynaecological surgeries. I did case presentations as well as morbidity and mortality audit presentations. I performed procedures such as speculum examination, nasogastric tube passage, urethral catheterization, venipuncture and IV cannulation.

I worked in the Paediatric and Surgical Departments where I attended to patients both at the emergency as well as the Out-Patient Departments under the supervision of my seniors. During my surgical rotation, I performed pre- operative assessment for patients scheduled for surgery. I also reviewed patients after they had undergone surgical procedures till their final discharge. I assisted in various surgical procedures in the various surgical subspecialties such as general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics surgery and plastic surgery. I attended to pediatric cases in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as well as run special clinics such as the Sickle cell clinic under the supervision of my seniors. I performed procedures such as IV cannulation, venipuncture and nasogastric tube passage. I also did case presentations as well as morbidity and mortality audits.
