Sample reception from couriers (samples are dropped off by courier coming from clients, depots, and branches, and details are recorded onto the Pre-Analytical Monitoring Log with the following; name of courier submitting the sample, date and time of receipt, name of sending site or client, number of request firms, tube information or numbers of batches received, name of pre-analytical staff receiving, and remarks are indicated at the end of the sample reception.
Walk-in samples are kept in sealed specimen bags, scanned and mailed via mox to the Pre and Post Analytical Group Mox.
Sample Sorting: Take out specimens and request forms from each bag and check the following: the patient's name, age(date of birth), and gender on the request form and confirm that they are the same on the sample; the expiry date on the sample tube; whether the correct sample has been taken for the test ordered; sample hemolysis and sufficiency; no leakages; no clots using the clot applicator stick.
