Value Added Tax Accounting

Tax Audits and Investigations.

  • Member and played a key role in Cocobod’s tax team that managed the yearly tax audit conducted by the Kinbu Audit team of the Ghana Revenue Authority. The period spanned four years, from 2017 to 2021, during which we managed to completely eliminate a tax liability of Ghȼ176 million Ghana Cedis that arose from their audit, saving that amount for the industry in a very unprecedented manner.
  • Embarked on general tax audit checks across subsidiaries and divisions of COCOBOD periodically to ensure compliance with all statutory deductions.
  • Assisted in responding to queries from the Ghana Revenue Authority for the head office, as well as for the divisions and subsidiaries.
  • Managed a file for all tax-related audits, including schedules of activities related to tax audits.

Tax Reporting.

  • Ensured accurate tax reports, including all tax-related transactions and non-tax transactions, are forwarded for management attention through the daily payment vouchers validation process.
  • Ensured reconciliation between the schedule of tax returns and actual taxes paid.
