I am a highly motivated regional leader with experience in managing multi-country partnerships, business development, risk management and technology transfer across West Africa. This experience is supported by my competence and professional working proficiency in French (B2) gained through on-the-ground working in some selected Francophone countries (Senegal, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo and Chad). Over the years, I have developed strategic alliances and partnerships with international research organisations (IITA, AfricaRice, CIFOR-ICRAF and World Vegetable Centre), National Agriculture Research Institute (NARIs) and private sector across the sub-region (Senegal, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Chad and the Gambia) for effective agricultural technology and innovation transfer. These strategic alliances include facilitating technology transfer from these international and national agriculture research organisations to beneficiaries of the World Bank Food Systems Resilient Programme (FSRP) and the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Development (GIRAV) project. Additionally, I have led several teams, managed budgets and delivered complex development programmes across the West Africa sub-region as a consultant for the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources-Canada, CINOP B.V, Netherlands, Climate Resilience Agriculture and Productivity Enhancement Project (ProPAD) in Chad, Environmental Protection Agency of Sierra Leone, Canadian High Commission of Ghana, Technical Education Development for the Modernisation of Agriculture in Ghana (TEDMAG) and Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF). As a Principal Research Scientist with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Ghana, I have successfully coordinated and supported the implementation of a number of significant international and donor funded projects such as; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) - Community Action for Improved Farmer Saved Seed (CAY seed), World Bank (WB)- West Africa Productivity Programme (WAAPP), Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)- Integrated Crop Livestock for West Africa, African Development Bank (AfDB)- Dissemination of New Agricultural Technologies in Africa (DONATA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - CORAF-Partnership for Agriculture Research and Development (PAIRED) project, etc. I have over 98 scientific publications, including; 21 refereed journal papers, 1 book chapter, 6 edited conference papers, 5 edited conference Abstracts, 13 unedited conference papers and posters, 3 training manuals, 19 handbooks, 5 extension leaflets and flyers, 25 edited research reports. Additionally, as an external examiner to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University for Development Studies (UDS), I have examined 1 PhD and 13 MPhil students’ theses from 2019 till Date.
Responsibilities: Facilitation of technology transfer for FSRP countries (Ghana, Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Senegal and Sierra Leone).
Achievements: (i) Successfully facilitated the transfer of 150 goats from Niger to Togo (ii) Successful facilitated the transfer of 4kg of tomato wilt resistant certified seeds from Benin to Togo (iii) Published three technical papers and presented one conference paper in Bonn, Germany.
Responsibilities: Coordination of partnership and business development activities of agriculture technology parks across 9 (Ghana, Niger, Chad, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Senegal and Sierra Leone) under the iREACH initiative.
Achievements: (i) Secured partnership agreements between 98 organizations and various national agriculture research institutions across 6 countries namely; Benin, Ghana, Togo, Mali, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone (ii) Initiated the youth in agribusiness programme leading to the establishment of 29 youth enterprises across 6 countries (Togo, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Benin, Chad and Mali)
Responsibilities: Consultant responsible for the establishment and management of innovation platforms under the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV)
Achievements: (i) Led the establishment and operationalization of 7 regional and 3 strategic innovation platforms in the Gambia (ii) Originated the concept of plant breeding mentorship and facilitated its implementation in the Gambia where 13 staff of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) and National Seed Secretariate (NSS) can now perform excellent crosses
