  • Gather intelligence as much as possible on activities on individuals, groups and organizations within the area of jurisdiction, bothering on issues of national security and reporting same to Director/BNI through the Divisional/Regional Command for further action
  • As a core member of District Security Committee DISEC) where applicable – actively participate in all deliberation of DISEC, contributing as appropriate as practicable intelligence and expert advice on range of issues bothering on security safety
  • Work/liaise with heads of sister security services and undertake joint operations with the Police and the military to ensure peace, security safety and order, in the area of jurisdiction
  • Constantly monitor and report to Director/BNI through the Divisional/Regional Command on the conduct of public officials including those in the security services/forces, civil service and political heads within the area of jurisdiction with regards to the issues bothering state/public interest
  • Conduct backgrounds checks (Due Diligence) on individuals or organisations earmarked for sensitive engagements and undertakings including Private Security companies, State Security agencies and their employees and prospective employees of sensitive public institutions
  • Initiate and conduct investigations into range of issues of concern to the Bureau and as may be sanctioned or directed by Director/BNI and National Security Coordinator
  • Assessment of Security situation respecting sensitive installations and institutions and recommending appropriate security measures as practicable as possible
