  • Microbiology: Performed routine screening of urine, and sputum’s, including media preparation, sample plating and microscopy. Identified organism through colonial morphology, physical and chemical properties.
  • Immunohematology or transfusion medicine: Undertook group screening of routine antenatal patients, urgent blood samples, performed crossmatch using both manual and automated techniques, Ensures the patient of received compatible blood/blood components by completing blood typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and antibody identification procedures.
  • Hematology: Processed samples through an automated hematology analyzer, made blood films and screen films alongside a hematology scientist to identify disease causing parasites such as plasmodium parasites, Peripheral blood smear to investigate hematological conditions
