  • Under this position and my deliverables, I coordinate programs and administrative activities with respect to Health, Agric and social protection system strengthening in the Upper East and North East Regions of Ghana. Also, I lead the process for preparing, monitoring and revising the annual work plan of six District Assemblies in Upper East and North Regions. I also provide inputs to facilitate the development of annual and strategic plans to achieve both the national and regional project objective and outcomes. Responsible for planning, implementation, documentation and reporting of all regional office project’s activities in coordination with Regional Team. I lead and facilitate the recruitment process of employees and multipurpose Team members in the Regions. I also lead annual performance evaluation (PREP) for all directs staff. Some of the key achievements include: facilitated and support MMDAs in developing and reviewing FY22 to FY25 Workplan and budget in the Upper East and North East Region leading to effective implementation of activities. Also, coordinated the review of 4 grantees milestone reports in 6 MMDAs from FY 23 to FY24. Also supported the RING SS grants team to conduct quarterly compliance monitoring in 6 MMDAs from FY 23 to FY24 in the Regions of operations

  • Under this position and my deliverable, I provided advisory and technical support to partner institutions at the Regional Coordinating Council and 15 Municipal/District Assemblies on Internal Generated Revenue, Local Economic Development, Public Finance Management, Planning and Budgeting, Environmental and Social Safeguards, Strengthening of accountability mechanisms, as well as monitoring and evaluation of partner activities; using tools such as the District Local Revenue Development Platform (DDDP). From these responsibilities, 6 number of assemblies in the region have improved their IGF target from 20% to 70% since 2019 to 2022. (DLReve, 2022).

This involved conducting work load assessment to determine optimum staffing levels and developing redeployment strategies.

  • In this program, I provided technical support to the Chairman and Board of ICODEHS on fundraising, grants management, effective communication with development partners on Humanitarian and Relief assistance. For example, I led a team of 5 to develop 40 successful funding proposals, and coordinated disbursement of the fund’s worth about $1million dollars from five Islamic donor Countries for humanitarian intervention. Also, with the request of Qatar Charity, one of the donors on the need to screen and treat eye and vison impaired persons, I facilitated in the partnership between ICODEHS and Save the Nation Eye Hospital at Madina in Accra, for the voluntary recruitment and screening of about 1000 persons with various locations in Muslims dominated communities in Ghana. Where 700 persons were screened and treated of cataracts and 200 Pterygium, and 100 had no cases.

  • In this project I was responsible for providing strategic direction, ensured effective management, and monitoring and evaluation of project activities in the Ashanti Region. This included supporting the organization’s policy advocacy and analysis through engagement with government, civil society organizations and other development partners. 200 youth beneficiaries were trained on business management, enterprise building and credit delivery. Out of the number trained, 100 beneficiaries increased their businesses from micro to macro levels. Aside, I supported the design and conducted assessment on quality and performance of community health education program in the Ashanti Region. About 200 health promotion assistants were trained and seconded to health care institutions to assist with community health promotions in Ashanti Region

  • In this project, I facilitated towards community development dialogues (engagement) between four communities and their assemblies in Accra and Takoradi. This platform made it possible for leaders to account for their stewardship to the community members.
  • Also facilitated the process of building community development profile for New Takoradi and Kojokrom communities in Sekondi Takoradi.
  • Successfully led a number of platforms for discussions with stakeholders in six (6) radio programmes (with phone ins) hosted in Takoradi which were used to discuss community SCALE-UP and WASH-UP success stories.
  • Facilitated the processes of integration of the communities development priorities into Accra Metropolitan Assembly and Sekondi Takordi Metropolitan Assemblies’ Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) and the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) of 2006/2009

HIGHLIGHTS OF CONSULTANCY ASSIGNMENTS

  • March 2018: Sub Team Leader: District Performance Assessment Tool Project (DPAT). Was a Sub Team Leader Contracted by the Ministry of Local government/District Performance Assessment Project to monitor and evaluate the 2016 performance of MMDAs in some districts of the Ashanti region, Ghana under the supervision of Innovative Services Consul.
  • March 2017: Sub Team Leader: Functional Organizational Assessment Tool Project. Was a Sub Team Leader Contracted by the Ministry of Local government/District Development Fund Project to monitor and evaluate the 2014 performance of MMDAs in some districts of the central region, Ghana under the supervision of Innovative Services Consult.
  • May- August 2015: Sub Team Leader: Human Resource Audit of the Ghana Public Service, under the Ghana Human Resource Management Information System (GHRMIS) Project, Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis-Western Region- Ghana. I was a team member tasked by the FAS CONSULT to conduct environmental impact assessment, social impact assessment and prepare environmental management plan, resettlement action plan and public disclosure and consultation plan for the GUMPP affected communities in the Tamale Metropolis.

Was a team member in undertaking an assignment in establishing a community based preventive maintenance systems for infrastructure constructed with the support of Urban Poverty Reduction Project being implemented by Social Investment Project and MLGRD with funding from AfDB.
  • April 2009: Community Mobilization Expert, SIF/Urban Poverty Reduction Project: Was a team member of consultants in an assignment titled “Strengthening of Pro-poor Participatory and Citizen Decision Making Processes in the MMDAs”. This involves capacity building for 12 MMDAs in Pro-poor participatory and citizen decision making procedures and employment-oriented Public-Private Partnership (PPP), and coaching them to apply the principles of PPP to manage municipal facilities and services.
  • March 2009: Community Mobilization Expert, GTZ/SFDR: Mainstreaming of maintenance into the local government planning, budgeting and implementation processes of 8 selected MMDAs in Ghana
