• International law and human rights are two distinct legal fields that encompass the rules and principles governing the actions and interactions of states and international organizations. Human rights refer to the freedoms, immunities, powers, and claims that individuals and groups of individuals, and to a certain extent, legal persons, enjoy in society. The legal field of international law and human rights focuses on obligations derived from international agreements and customary international law, and often arises within other fields of law, such as international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and international refugee and migration law.
  
  A senior lecturer at Lund University is responsible for teaching and assessment in international law and human rights in the Swedish law degree programme, specialization courses, and Master's program in international human rights law. They also supervise and assess degree projects and maintain a stimulating research and education environment through teaching, supervision, and collaboration with teaching staff, researchers, doctoral students, students, and wider society.
