  • As a senior resident in cardiology, I am primarily responsible for improving, supervising, and implementing management strategies for our patients ( both outpatient and in-patient) to ensure optimal care as guided by the current evidence base and resources available.
  • I am also responsible for tutoring medical students, medical officers, and residents in internal medicine to improve their medical knowledge, understanding, and clinical skills, especially in cardiology.
  • I am responsible for performing and reporting echocardiograms, stress electrocardiograms, and holter electrocardiograms when I am on duty in the echocardiography and electrophysiology laboratories.
  • I am responsible for the pre-operative assessment and preparation of patients and assisting the interventional cardiologist concerning invasive coronary angiogram, percutaneous coronary intervention, and right heart catheterization when on duty at the catheterization laboratory.

  • I was one of the BLS and ACLS instructors who trained over 200 health workers in BLS and ACLS when CODE RED EMS was contracted by the Ghana Heart Initiative(GHI) and GIZ as part of the country's effort to improve cardiovascular medicine practice.
  • I was the site cardiologist with Ghana Institute of Clinical Genetics, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, on a phase 2b study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of IMR-687 in subjects with sickle cell disease. Protocol number: IMR-SCD-301
