Oversee the day to day activities and management of the mining operations, coordinate with the client and maintenance department.

• Ensuring the Safe, Health, Environmental, plus the efficient delivery of the day to day production set targets. Liaising with the client’s engineering section to ensure PW sticks strictly to the requirements at all times to achieve.

As a contractor, my responsibilities are to ensure that, the clients set targets in terms of productivity, health safety environment are achieved without any compromise.

Also to ensure all documents/reports of day to day activities are very well recorded submitted or communicated to the various departments.

• Ensuring all documents of works done for other departments and sections are well compiled, ensuring all contractors working under the projects department adheres to all the company HEALTH, SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL policies and complies. Ensures all jobs are done safely, efficiently and meets the company’s budget at all times, and also ensures the safety and welfare of all the company employees as well.

• Liaison between the client and my company as contract miners, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of my company.

• Supervising day to day operation of the mine (Production) and training of the national of basics in mining.

• Day to day running of the mine production consisting of, 6-EX5500 Hitachi Electric/Diesel Shovels, 27EH4500-240tons Hitachi dump trucks, 5 CAT-D10T dozers, 5 CAT-16M motor graders, 3 CAT-777F water carts and 3 CAT-824H Wheel dozers, with personnel of over 60.

• Overseeing of operations and men in both mine production and the civil works departments.

• Day to day safe efficient run of the mine, and assisting in training of the nationals in basics in mining.

• Ensuring safe and efficient running of the day to day operation of the mine, attending production meetings on daily basis to achieving maximum production.

• Ensuring safe and efficient day to day operations of the mine, and assisting in training of the Tanzanian nationals to a level of capable to run the mine in safe and efficient manner.

• Supervising a team of around 110 personnel, with 46-100tonner dump trucks, 8 140tonner Excavators, Dozers, Graders and other supportive gear.

• Ensuring all the production operations activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

• To ensure the stabilization of a 60m wall slip is done safely and efficiently. This project was done with first dozers pushing down the failed areas in angles, establish platform for drilling and blasting, then the bulk load and haul.

• Responsible for the safe and efficient run of the operations of the mine to ensure ex-pit, ROM stocks and through put are always meeting the set target.

• Contracted to supervise the following project works carried out by the clients project crew (GAG), Tails Dam embankments wall lifts, Waste dump rehabilitations, Sediment ponds constructions, Heli-pad constructions, Bush clearings/Top soil stripping, Drains and many more.

• Responsible the workforce, equipment and the general safety. These include the Pit, ROM Pad, Dewatering, Waste dumps, and Haul roads construction/maintenance.

• Ensuring safe and efficiency of the equipment I was operating to meet the set KPIs of the mine. I was the prime loading unit operator of the time the CAT-992-D.

• Operating the prime loading equipment of this goldmine, a CAT 992-D.
