1. Pick water samples from various sampling points on the plant and ran analyses on them to
check pH, colour, turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids, Electric Conductivity and residual chlorine
as part of process control and compliance.
2. Prepare Aluminium Sulphate, Calcium Oxide and Calcium Hypochlorite solutions used daily
for the treatment of the raw water for safe drinking.
3. Make sure that coagulation/flocculation, pre-chlorination, softening and pH neutralization,
sedimentation and decantation which are done at the pretreatment part of the treatment plant
are effective.
4. Ensure that disinfection done by post chlorination is effective by dosing the filtered water with the right concentration.
5. Regularly monitor treated water turbidity to ensure it conform with standards and if it does
not then backwash of filters is done.
6. Report the findings to the supervisor on site.
1. Assumed supervisory responsibilities in the absence of regular supervisor during a planned
leave.
2. Managed and provided guidance to my team.
3. Led safety meetings and ensured that safety materials needed for the shift operations are
available and permits filled and signed before work commence.
4. Oversaw daily operations, delegated tasks and ensured workflow.
5. Responsible for all quality control and quality assurance activities in the plant.
6. Led my team to produce an average of 200m3 of potable water per hour during my shift.
7. Resolved issues and conflicts within the team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
8. Communicate all operational issues to the plant manager to ensure smooth functioning.
1. Assisted in the preparation of reagents and solutions used in laboratory procedures.
2. Assisted in testing substances and materials for chemical safety.
3. Assisted in collecting samples of drinking water and wastewater from sampling points for analysis.
4. Assisted in analyzing the water samples in the laboratory by observing the chemical, physical and biological properties.
5. Took part in ensuring the treatment of drinking water and wastewater is effective and efficient and the treatment meets the Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization regulations.
