Work History

Software Engineer

Kamak Paperless
East Legon
06.2024 - Current
  • At Kamak Paperless, I work as a software engineer, where I have been integral in developing enterprise software for corporate trustees using JavaServer Faces (JSF). My role also involves creating full-stack web applications, leveraging React for the frontend and Node.js for the backend. We utilize SQL databases exclusively, and I primarily use Sequelize as the ORM for managing database interactions in Node.js. My experience at Kamak has honed my skills in both frontend and backend development, as well as in working with complex database systems.

Software Engineer

Tech231
Monrovia
04.2024 - Current
  • My most recent experience was a remote contract role with Tech231, a software company based in Liberia, where I worked as a full stack software engineer. In this position, I was responsible for building both a web and a desktop app designed to manage and run raffles. For the web app, I utilized React to create a responsive and user-friendly interface. On the desktop side, I leveraged React and Electron to deliver a robust and versatile application, while Node.js powered the backend services.

A significant highlight of my work at Tech231 was the engineering of the desktop application. Using Electron, I expertly managed inter-process communication (IPC) between the main and renderer processes. This ensured seamless and efficient communication within the app, providing a smooth user experience. One of the standout features of the desktop app was its ability to function offline. I meticulously designed the app to handle all its processes without an internet connection. When a connection became available, the app would automatically synchronize and push all data to an online database. This capability was crucial for maintaining uninterrupted service and data integrity, regardless of connectivity issues.

In addition to the raffle management app, I also developed a ticketing app for the Liberian Basketball Association. This app streamlined ticket sales and management, providing an efficient solution for handling large volumes of transactions and ensuring a positive experience for users.

My role at Tech231 allowed me to showcase my ability to engineer highly reliable and functional desktop applications. I demonstrated a strong command of React, Electron, and Node.js, along with a deep understanding of offline-first application design, ensuring that the applications I built were not only feature-rich but also exceptionally resilient and user-friendly.

Front End Developer Intern

Wigal Solutions
Frafraha
03.2024 - 06.2024
  • During my internship at Wial Solutions, I specialized as a frontend developer with a focus on building cross-platform applications. Utilizing React Native and Expo, I developed mobile applications that could run seamlessly on both iOS and Android devices. One of the standout projects I worked on was a POS (Point of Sale) app designed specifically for a car wash business. This app streamlined the payment and service tracking process, providing a user-friendly interface for both employees and customers.

In addition to mobile development, I also worked on creating cross-platform desktop applications using Electron.js and React. One significant project involved developing an admin portal for one of Wial Solutions' in-house SaaS products. This desktop app provided essential administrative functionalities, allowing the team to manage and monitor the SaaS product efficiently. The experience of working with Electron.js allowed me to understand the intricacies of building desktop applications that could operate on multiple operating systems with a consistent performance and user experience.

My role at Wial Solutions was comprehensive, involving the application of best practices in frontend development and ensuring that the applications were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. This internship provided me with invaluable experience in cross-platform development, further enhancing my skills in creating versatile and robust applications for various platforms.

Networking Intern

37 Military Hospital
Accra
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • During my internship at 37 Military Hospital, I gained extensive experience in networking and hardware maintenance. My primary responsibilities included cable tracing, cable termination, and setting up network cables in new office environments. These tasks required meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of network infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity across the hospital.

In addition to networking, I was heavily involved in hardware maintenance and upgrades. This included installing new RAM modules to enhance PC performance, as well as replacing and upgrading hard drives to ensure that the hospital's computer systems operated smoothly and efficiently. These hardware interventions were critical in maintaining the operational readiness of the hospital's IT infrastructure.

Moreover, I was tasked with developing an equipment management system using C# and the .NET Framework. This project involved creating a Windows Forms application that would streamline the tracking and management of medical equipment. The application aimed to improve the hospital's efficiency in managing its assets, ensuring that equipment was always available and in optimal condition.

Overall, my time at 37 Military Hospital was a comprehensive learning experience that provided me with a robust foundation in both networking and hardware maintenance, alongside valuable software development skills.
