Project Coordinator UB & ASM project

  • Developed the first informal mining application, dubbed 'the innovative project in the small-scale mining sector,' targeting three (3) countries: Ghana, DRC, and Zambia.
  • Developed database management tools for four (4) unions: 3 under the Union Building project and One (1) under the NITO project
  • Initiated a master plan for organizing the ASM sector in Zambia, Zimbabwe, DRC, and Ghana.
  • Supported unions through the innovative project by adopting a stakeholder-led approach to organizing the informal sector of the mining industry.
  • Participated in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and technologies.( Anglo-America Leadership training- Cohort 12)
  • Performed regular reviews of project documentation and communicated results with relevant personnel.
  • Coordinated with isectoral representatives (Mining and Auto) to identify and implement key initiatives that supports IndustiriAll core strategic goals.
  • Developed the first regional-level HRDD mapping tool for unions to track human and labour rights violations in the mining and textile industries. (First piloted in Kenya and Uganda.)
  • Represented IndustriALL on the global copper mark group to develop standards for companies in copper production across the globe from 2023 till date.

  • Instrumental in developing the first wage model for the mining industry adopted by companies like Anglo-Gold Iduapriem, Newmont, Orica Mining Services, and ALS.
  • Designed total rewards or conditions of service for workers in the mining and metals sector
  • Conducted wage/labour income inequality research and published it in an economic and development journal.
  • Designed a performance management and Appraisal system for mining companies
  • Conducted job evaluation that establishes the relative worth of jobs as dictated by competition and enables placement of appropriate premium on skills in two service mining companies: Orica Ghana Limited & African Underground Mining Services.
  • Led collective bargaining at the sector and national levels (collective agreement negotiations under unionized establishments)
  • Conflict and trade dispute management/settlement under the Labour Act (Case draft, representation at the National Labour Commission, etc.)

Ghana Mineworkers Union
  • Designed a supply chain organizing model along the value chain of the mining sector of Ghana
  • Engage in field organizing in both the operating mines and the service mining company.
  • Lead a strike action at the Precious Marketing Minerals over failure to negotiate in good faith.
  • Developed an online organizing and membership database for the Ghana Mineworkers Union, which is still in use.
  • Reviewed gaps in the labour law that affected collective bargaining and the right to organize within the mining sector.
  • Engaged in community mobilization on the increased non-standard forms of work in the mining sector (Tarkwa, Obuasi).
