I am an internationally trained nurse with a Diploma and have advanced myself in my career into attaining Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a passion for the job. In my many years in the nursing profession, I have gathered experiences from working in various nursing departments: emergency, acute medicine, community and public health, orthopedic, geriatric, surgical, ICU, plastic and burns, pediatric, gynecology, Mental health etc. The zeal I have to provide quality care goes beyond gender, race and color, political or social status. Naturally, I am respectful, very compassionate, hardworking, ready to learn, a fast learner, honest and kind. Working in this field has also fully developed my observation, communication and documentation skills. I am a disciplined and adaptable nurse who is analytical and always keen on carrying out assigned duties excellently with little or no supervision at all. Giving patient and family -centered care while maintaining respect, privacy and dignity is important to me as every patient is unique.
As a registered general nurse currently working at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, the mass number of cases that come to the facility with an average nurse to patient ratio of 1:7 has made me manage workload effectively by assessing and prioritizing cases based on severity (triaging). Also I have great computer or IT skills. My knowledge in management puts me in the position to delegate work amongst various staffs and students accordingly. I am able to work under pressure while concentrating and delivering precise nursing care. Additionally, I am able to do all shifts ( 12 hours) and overtime when need arises. I am exposed to working with a multi-disciplinary team and can adapt quickly and positively to change and fit perfectly into the team due to my excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I also understand and strongly abide by the NMC code of professional conduct making me provide high standard holistic care.
Finally, I vehemently believe that I possess the qualities any reputable company will look out for in an employee with great assurance that I will deliver effectively and efficiently when given the job. I am available for any further questions or interview.
