Accomplishments
Introduced Electric Vehicles (EV) for Mining operations in Ghana (April 2023)
Successful introduced EV for mining operations in Tarkwa Mine, this is part of strategy to reduce the mine's GHG emissions towards achieving the mine's 2030 target. This is the first of its kind in the Ghanaian mining industry.
Developed a ten-year (2021 – 2030) GHG reduction strategy for Tarkwa & Damang Mines. (Nov 2021).
A strategic blueprint for achieving the 2030 decarbonization target of Gold Fields West Africa. The target for the strategy is to reduce carbon emissions from the Gold Fields West Africa operations by 30% in the year 2030 with 2016 as the baseline. As the Energy manager, I lead the development of this strategy under the leadership of the Vice President for Engineering and Project
Natural Gas for Elution. Gold Fields Tarkwa Mine (Dec 2020 – Aug 2021)
This is a fuel switch project for the Elution heaters at Gold Fields Tarkwa mine from Diesel to Natural Gas. The value proposition for this project is an annual savings of US$0.65M on fuel cost and 1.7ktCO2e savings on annual carbon emissions. Capex for this project was US$2.1m
