To provide advanced technical and clinical support in the assessment, design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices, while supervising junior staff and ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and service delivery.
A. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments for prosthetic and orthotic intervention.
2. Design, fabricate, fit, and align prosthetic and orthotic devices according to prescription and best practice.
3. Review and modify devices to ensure optimal comfort, function, and rehabilitation outcomes.
4. Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and maintenance of devices.
5. Participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation team meetings.
B. TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise fabrication processes including casting, molding, lamination, thermoplastics, and finishing.
2. Ensure correct use and maintenance of tools, machinery, and materials in the workshop.
3. Implement quality control measures to ensure devices meet clinical and safety standards.
4. Troubleshoot complex technical challenges in device production and repair.
