I have over 10 years’ experience in research project and grant management including multi-country/sites projects management (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing out), budgeting and budget negotiation, reporting to both management & funders, setting up research/grant agreements and seawards, financial and project management. Offer training support to research staff especially project/grant managers and coordinators including finance team on project/grant management. Abdul-Karimu had successfully managed over 50 projects/grants (both short and long periods with duration ranging from a month to 10 years) over the last 10 years from both local and international funders. Some of the funders include National Institute of Health, GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals SA (GSK), United Nations Foundation (UNF), USAID, Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), World Health Organization, Newmont Ghana Gold Limited, European Commission, NIHR CLEAN-Air(Africa) Global Health Research Group, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The International Vaccine Institute (IVI), The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership(EDCTP), UNICEF Ghana, The Wellcome Trust Limited, etc. I also have extensive knowledge in internal auditing and can provide advice on internal controls, assist institutions to set up new internal audit unit with ease and support existing Internal Audit Unit to strengthen their capacity.
