Summary

Dedicated materials engineer with a comprehensive academic background in materials science and engineering, highlighted by successful research projects in the fabrication of dye-sensitized solar cells using graphene oxide and the integration of materials into environmental monitoring systems. My commitment to advancing sustainable technologies is evident in my interdisciplinary approach, demonstrated by the construction of a radio-controlled aircraft for measuring atmospheric CO2 levels. Seeking admission to a Ph.D program in materials Engineering, I aspire to contribute to a cutting-edge research, bridging the gap between materials science and real-world applications.

Work History

Assistant Robotic Engineer

Dessel Technologies
09.2021 - Current
  • building and maintaining robotic kits. Thus I program and calibrate the robots to ensure they function properly and safely.
  • I conduct training sessions and workshops for teachers and students, thus teaching them the basics of robotics, programming, and the safe operation of robots.

National Service Personnel

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
09.2020 - 08.2021
  • I worked as a tutorial assistant in the information and technology department, KNUST, where I mark undergraduates' assignments, tests, exams, reports, and term papers on AutoCad and Matlab for over 350 students.
  • I also invigilated mid-semester and end of term exams.

Content Development Intern

Practical Education Network
05.2018 - 09.2018
  • I developed hands-on content for math and science resource manuals for junior high school teachers in Ghana. That is approximately 8,693 Ghanaian teachers.
  • I tested and refined hands-on mathematics and science activities with teachers and students in the classroom.
  • I documented all activities in overleaf and formatted the science and math manual for consistency.

Research

  • Ashesi University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Berekuso, Ghana, Research Intern, 05/2019 - 09/2019, I was supervised by Dr. Heather Beem in her original research on using locally available materials (cardboard) to construct a radio-controlled aircraft, I single handedly built three prototypes of radio-controlled aircraft mounted with an arduino to measure the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere at the Berekuso region of Ghana, I programmed, configured and mounted the arduino on the radio-controlled aircraft for the collection of data
  • Envaserv Research Consult, Sowutuom, Ghana, Research intern, 05/2017 - 08/2017, I assisted the lab technicians and postdoctoral researchers in measuring heavy metal levels in water samples, I reviewed analytical results of samples to assure quality control (detection limits, accuracy and precision)

Awards

Certificate of Appreciation: Deputy Chairman, Information and Research Committee, Ghana Engineering Student's Association-KNUST

Swimming and playing piano

Apart from swimming being fun for me it is also an important surviving skill.
